Hero Elementary is PBS Kids doing what PBS Kids does best: educational content that doesn't make you want to throw the remote through the TV. It's genuinely trying to teach scientific thinking through superhero adventures, and it succeeds without being obnoxious about it.
The safety profile is impeccable—this is the show you put on when you need 22 minutes of peace and zero risk of your 4-year-old encountering anything weird. Characters are kind, conflicts are gentle, and the messages are solid.
That said, it's not going to blow anyone's mind. The animation is fine, the stories are predictable, and the pacing is deliberate (read: slow if you're over 7). It's the educational equivalent of a reliable Toyota—not exciting, but it gets the job done and you won't regret the purchase.
If you've got a preschooler or kindergartener who likes superheroes but you're tired of the Marvel chaos, this is a great middle ground. Just know that by first or second grade, they'll probably be ready for something with more zip.
