Gran Turismo Sport is the racing game equivalent of taking actual driving lessons—it's educational, clean, and technically impressive, but it's not particularly fun unless you're already deeply into motorsports.
The content is pristine: no violence, no toxicity, no sketchy monetization. Cars crash but bounce off each other like bumper cars. The ESRB E rating is spot-on. But here's the thing: this game demands PlayStation Plus, has minimal single-player content, and the hyper-realistic controls will make most kids want to throw the controller. Family Friendly Gaming called the controls 'not very good' and the music 'horrible,' which tells you this isn't universally beloved.
If your kid is obsessed with real cars and wants to learn actual racing lines and braking points, this could be genuinely enriching. If they just want to zoom around and have fun, get them literally any other racing game. The WISE score reflects that it's well-made and safe, but the audience is narrow and the entertainment value is limited unless you're willing to put in serious hours to master the simulation.
