FUBAR is what happens when you give Arnold Schwarzenegger a Netflix budget and ask him to do True Lies again, but as a series, with his daughter. Critics weren't impressed (48%), but audiences had fun (73%)—which tells you everything you need to know. It's comfort-food action-comedy for people who miss '90s Arnold.
The problem? It's aggressively mediocre. Derivative spy plots, predictable jokes, and violence that's meant to be fun but is still pretty graphic. The father-daughter dynamic adds some heart, but not enough to overcome the formulaic execution.
For parents: this is absolutely not for kids. The 15+ rating is generous—it's really 17+. And even then, you're not getting enriching content; you're getting explosions and one-liners. If your teen wants to watch it, fine, but don't expect any profound takeaways beyond 'Arnold is still Arnold.'
Bottom line: FUBAR is fine if you want brainless action-comedy for adults. But it's not going to win any awards, and it's definitely not making anyone's 'must-watch' list.
