Dream Productions is perfectly fine—and that's kind of the problem. It takes the brilliant Inside Out concept and spins it into a decent but unremarkable miniseries that feels more like Disney Plus content filler than essential Pixar storytelling.
The premise is clever: exploring the studio that produces Riley's dreams. But with a Metacritic score of 67 and lukewarm audience response, this is clearly not reaching the emotional or creative heights of the films. It's safe, it's imaginative enough, and young kids will probably enjoy it. But let's be real: this is the direct-to-video sequel energy, just on a streaming platform.
If your kids are Inside Out superfans, sure, throw it on. It won't hurt them and might spark some fun conversations about dreams and creativity. But if you're looking for that Pixar magic that makes both kids AND adults cry? This ain't it. It's background-friendly family viewing that's more 'nice to have' than 'must-watch.'
