Doctor Strange is one of Marvel's more interesting entries—visually inventive, philosophically richer than average, and with a protagonist whose journey from arrogant jerk to humble hero actually feels earned.
The redemption arc is genuinely good for kids to see: someone brilliant and successful who has to lose everything to find what actually matters. The mystical elements add depth and introduce Eastern philosophy in ways that invite curiosity. And those visual effects? Still stunning years later.
That said, it's darker and more intense than many Marvel films. The car crash, the villain's deteriorating face, the existential themes about death and time—it's not light fare. Some families will also have concerns about the mystical/occult imagery, which is more prominent here than in other superhero movies.
Bottom line: A solid, imaginative superhero film with more substance than most, but definitely mid-range MCU for younger viewers. Save it for kids who can handle the intensity and might actually appreciate the character growth.
