DC League of Super-Pets is perfectly fine. That's both its strength and its limitation.
It delivers exactly what's on the tin: cute animals with superpowers, decent laughs, positive messages about teamwork and adoption, and enough action to keep kids engaged. The 87% audience score tells you what you need to know—kids like it, parents can tolerate it, everyone moves on with their lives.
But here's the thing: it's aggressively middle-of-the-road. Critics were lukewarm (56 Metacritic), and it shows. The story is paint-by-numbers superhero origin stuff, just with fur. It's not going to spark deep conversations or stick with your kids the way truly great animated films do.
That said, for a rainy afternoon or a long car ride, you could do way worse. It's safe, it's sweet, and it might even get your kids talking about adopting shelter pets. Just don't expect it to revolutionize family movie night.
