Core is trying to be the 'serious' game creation platform—less cartoony than Roblox, built on actual professional tools. That's legitimately cool for kids who want to learn real skills.
But here's the problem: it's a ghost town in the parent-review world. No Common Sense Media page, no ESRB rating, confusing social features, and zero transparency about moderation. The web search results couldn't even find the right game. For a platform built around user-generated content and social interaction, that's concerning.
The bones are good—no monetization traps, genuine creative potential, professional-grade tools. But without clear safety rails and community standards, you're basically handing your kid the keys to an unmoderated corner of the internet and hoping the other drivers are responsible.
If your kid is 12+, tech-savvy, and you're willing to check in regularly on what they're playing and who they're interacting with, Core could be a solid learning experience. For younger or less supervised kids? Pass until there's more transparency.
