Look, Disney wants you to forget this one exists, and there's a reason for that. Chicken Little was Disney's first fully computer-animated film (without Pixar), and it shows—not in the animation quality, but in everything else.
The film tries to be a heartwarming underdog story but gets buried under mean-spirited humor, a father who's genuinely embarrassed by his son, and relentless bullying that's played for laughs. The emotional core—a kid desperately seeking his dad's approval—is actually kind of depressing rather than uplifting.
With a 36% on Rotten Tomatoes and a dismal 2.9/5 on Letterboxd, this isn't a hidden gem. It's dated (those pop culture references aged like milk), chaotic, and just not fun to watch. There are literally hundreds of better animated films on Disney+ alone.
If your kid specifically requests it, fine—it won't traumatize them. But if you're browsing for family movie night, keep scrolling. You'll thank me later.
