Cha Cha Real Smooth has a genuinely sweet premise and critics loved its emotional authenticity, but that 61% audience score tells you something: this is a slow-burn indie about a guy who doesn't have his life together, and not everyone's going to vibe with it.
The autism representation is a real strength—thoughtful and non-stereotypical. But the R-rating is earned: there's a sex scene, plenty of swearing, drinking, and adults making questionable choices. This isn't sneaking-past-the-rating territory; it's legitimately adult content.
For older teens (15-17) who can handle mature themes and enjoy character-driven stories, it offers something to chew on about purpose and connection. For everyone else? There are better options that won't require you to skip scenes or explain why the party starter is making such messy life choices.
