Burnout Paradise Remastered is exactly what it says on the tin: high-speed arcade racing where crashing spectacularly is half the fun. It's a 2008 classic given a 2018 polish, and it holds up surprisingly well—the open-world design still feels fresh, and the lack of predatory monetization is downright refreshing.
The violence is cartoonish metal-crunching, not disturbing. The online play is relatively tame without open chat. And while it's not teaching your kid to code or ponder existential questions, it's building real hand-eye coordination and spatial skills.
Is it enriching? Not really. Is it a blast? Absolutely. Sometimes that's enough. If your tween wants a racing game that won't nickel-and-dime you or expose them to toxic chat, this is a solid pick.
