If your kid is a history buff or currently studying the 1860s, this is a solid supplement that won't bore them to tears. It's 'History-tainment' at its peak—loud, dramatic, and very visual.
It doesn't have the poetic depth of a Ken Burns documentary, but it does a better job of showing what a bayonet charge actually looked like. Just be ready for the gore; the American Heroes Channel doesn't shy away from the 'savage' reality of the era.
