Let's be crystal clear: this isn't a family show, and it's not sneaking onto anyone's Screenwise recommendation list for kids. Better Call Saul is critically acclaimed adult television—sophisticated, beautifully crafted, and completely inappropriate for children.
That said, if you're a parent looking for your own excellent TV after the kids are in bed? This is top-tier. The storytelling is exceptional, the character work is phenomenal, and the moral complexity is genuinely thought-provoking. It's just that all of it happens in a world of crime, corruption, and consequences that's firmly in adult territory.
For older high schoolers (17-18) who are genuinely interested in law, ethics, or film craft, there could be value in watching WITH parents and discussing the moral descent. But even then, know what you're getting into: this is dark, mature content that requires readiness for violence and moral ambiguity.
Bottom line: Exceptional television for adults. Not for kids. Not even close.
