Do you have to read them in order?

The books are released in 'series' (usually arcs of 6 books). While you can jump in anywhere, it's much more satisfying to start at the beginning of a specific 6-book arc so the quest for the amulet fragments actually makes sense.

Adam Blade is a pen name used by a group of authors at Working Partners, a UK-based company. It's the same 'book packager' model used for Warrior Cats. This is why the books come out so frequently.

Is it too violent for a 6-year-old?

It's fantasy violence—think swords clashing against scales or dodging magical hooves. There's no gore, but characters do get put in 'peril.' If your kid can handle a Disney villain, they can handle this.

How long does it take to read one?

For a typical 8-year-old, these are 45-60 minute reads. They are intentionally slim to keep the momentum high and the 'I finished a book!' dopamine hit coming frequently.
