Baby Driver is legitimately one of the most innovative action films of the 2010s—Edgar Wright's vision of choreographing every scene to music is executed so well that film schools use it as a teaching tool. The soundtrack alone is worth the cultural literacy.
But let's be real: this is a hard R-rated crime thriller where people get shot in the face, even if it's done with style. The film tries to have it both ways—showing that crime has consequences while also making it look incredibly cool. For older teens (16+) who can handle the violence and think critically about the moral complexity, it's a solid watch that'll spark good conversations about choice, consequence, and filmmaking craft.
For younger kids? Absolutely not. The violence is frequent and intense, even if it's not torture-porn level. And the film's stylization means kids might miss the 'crime is bad' message while focusing on how awesome those car chases look. Save this one for the high school years when they can appreciate both the artistry and grapple with the ethics.
