Here's the truth: this is an obscure 1972 Christmas special that even audiences at the time didn't love (that 3/10 TMDB rating tells the story). The premise is sweet—a mouse and dog team up to deliver a kid's letter to Santa—but the execution appears to have missed the mark five decades ago, and it certainly hasn't aged into charm.
The content itself is perfectly safe and wholesome, which is great. But 'safe and wholesome' doesn't mean 'worth watching.' The animation will look painfully dated to kids raised on modern standards, and the pacing will likely feel glacial. There are dozens of better Christmas specials from every era that would be more engaging.
Unless you're a completist collector of obscure holiday specials or doing academic research on 1970s animation, you can safely skip this one. Your kids won't be missing anything, and you'll save yourself 30 minutes of 'Are we done yet?' The fact that it's nearly impossible to find anywhere should tell you something about its cultural impact (or lack thereof).
