SuperSummary is basically the 'pro' version of SparkNotes. If your kid is reading Because of Winn-Dixie for school and seems to be just 'word-calling' without actually getting the story, this is a solid intervention. It doesn't replace the book—and it shouldn't—but it helps bridge the gap for kids who find literary analysis a bit abstract.
It’s a functional tool. It won't win any awards for being a fun Saturday afternoon read, but as a way to build confidence in a kid who is intimidated by 'big' themes like abandonment and community, it does exactly what it says on the tin.
