Stay the Night is a quiet, confident indie that works because it doesn't try to be a sweeping epic. It’s a 'Before Sunrise' for the Tinder generation, focusing on two people who are both having a very bad day and happen to collide in the best way possible.
For parents, this is a 'watch after the kids are in bed' pick. It’s refreshing to see a movie that treats adult loneliness with this much respect, even if the 'pro athlete meets normal girl' setup sounds a bit like a fan-fiction prompt on paper.
