The Avatar sets are the most alien shelf LEGO ever shipped: a Tree of Souls in translucent pink, floating mountains, banshees with foil wings, and long-limbed Na'vi figures that exist in no other theme. For a family that treats each Pandora movie as an event, one of these builds is the rare gift that lands on movie night and stays on the shelf for years.

Know before you shop: LEGO retired the whole line at the end of 2023 and never made a Fire and Ash wave. Every set is aftermarket now, sealed flagship prices run 20 to 40 percent over old retail, and the Fire and Ash minifigures floating around online are knockoffs.

Why It Might Be Great

The Tree of Souls is the best-looking thing in the line. A curtain of translucent pink tendrils over a brick-built trunk, with a few glow-in-the-dark pieces at the base for after lights-out.
Na'vi figures get their own long-limbed mold. Jake and Neytiri stand a head taller than a standard minifigure, the way a ten-foot Na'vi should.
The creatures are the toys. A posable Toruk with foil wings, banshees, a direhorse, ilus, and Payakan the tulkun swoosh around the living room long after the scenery hits the shelf.
Each set restages a scene. Jake's first banshee flight, the Metkayina reef village, the Toruk bond: build one after a rewatch and the movie keeps going at the table.

Toruk Makto & Tree of Souls (75574) is the one to hunt: 1,212 pieces, four Na'vi figures on their own long-limbed mold, a posable Toruk with foil wings, a direhorse, and a tree with a curtain of translucent pink tendrils that catches lamplight the way the film's forest glows. Buyers agree: 4.7 stars across 850-plus Amazon ratings. Two things the box art oversells, though. The true glow-in-the-dark pieces amount to a few elements at the tree's base, and that tendril curtain is a repetitive stretch of building. Families who want the full nighttime effect add a third-party LED kit.

Skip anything sold as "Fire and Ash minifigures": LEGO made no sets for the third film, and those listings are knockoffs. And if your kid says Avatar and means Aang, that is a different show whose two LEGO sets came and went in 2006.
