Look, this is one of those shows that exists because Disney had two moderately successful series and thought 'let's mash them together!' The result? Exactly as uninspired as that sounds.
The 6.3 IMDB rating is actually generous—this is formulaic, forgettable Disney Channel fare that was already feeling stale when it premiered in 2016. It's perfectly safe, sure, but so is watching paint dry. The crossover concept had potential, but the execution is lazy: predictable plots, one-dimensional characters, and that exhausting Disney Channel comedy style where everyone's constantly making quips instead of having actual conversations.
If your 8-year-old is deep in a superhero phase and has burned through everything else on Disney+, fine, this won't hurt them. But there are so many better options—The Incredibles, Spider-Verse, even the older Spectacular Spider-Man animated series—that offer actual storytelling alongside the action.
The show lasted one season for a reason. It's the TV equivalent of gas station snacks: technically edible, but you're not going to remember it five minutes later, and there were definitely better options available.
