Dragons' Den is the OG business pitch show that inspired Shark Tank, and it holds up surprisingly well for families with budding entrepreneurs. It's genuinely educational—kids will learn about equity, valuation, marketing, and how to spot a good (or terrible) business idea.
The Dragons themselves range from constructively critical to occasionally brutal, which is both a feature and a bug. It teaches resilience and professional critique, but sensitive kids might wince at the harsher rejections. Production feels a bit dated (it's from 2005, after all), and some pitches involve very British products or references that might not land with modern North American kids.
That said, if you've got a kid who's always scheming up inventions, running lemonade stands, or asking about how businesses make money, this is solid viewing. It's not flashy or fast-paced, so it won't compete with TikTok for attention, but for the right kid, it's genuinely enriching and might spark real entrepreneurial thinking. Just be ready to explain what 'turnover' and 'equity' mean.
