Crave is the literary equivalent of a double-shot espresso—fast, intense, and probably going to keep them up way too late. It’s not high art, and it doesn't try to be.
It’s a self-aware vampire romp that knows exactly what its audience wants: brooding boys, secret societies, and a girl who finds out she’s more than she seems. If your teen is looking for a fun escape and you're okay with some 'steamy' YA tension, this is a solid win for the bookshelf.
Best for 13 or 14 and up. It’s written for the BookTok generation—heavy on the angst, the 'vibes,' and the romantic tension. If they're ready for YA romance, they're ready for this.
It leans heavily into the 'I'm dangerous, stay away' romantic trope. While it explores processing grief and finding a new 'found family' after tragedy, the core relationship is built on intense, sometimes obsessive attraction.
It’s a supernatural buffet. Wolff throws vampires, witches, dragons, and shifters into a remote Alaskan boarding school. It’s not necessarily 'new,' but the kitchen-sink approach to world-building is fun and keeps the pages turning.
