Code 404 is that show you scroll past on Peacock three times before finally clicking because you've run out of options. The premise—dead cop resurrected as buggy AI—has legs, but the 6.3 IMDb rating tells you everything: it's fine, forgettable, and not particularly funny or smart.
British cop comedies can be brilliant (see: Hot Fuzz), but this one feels like it's coasting on a decent concept without the writing chops to make it sing. The humor is dark and cynical, the violence is present (he literally gets shot in the face), and the emotional core—saving his marriage, proving himself—feels rote.
For adults? Sure, if you need background noise. For kids? Absolutely not. For your watchlist? Only if you've exhausted everything else and really, really like British accents.
