Here's the deal: critics liked this way more than regular people did, and that 30-point Rotten Tomatoes gap tells you everything. It's a competent indie about a guy who makes terrible decisions, learns some lessons, and presumably grows. Fine.
But let's be real—this is not a family movie, not a teen movie, and barely an entertaining adult movie based on that 6.2 IMDb rating and 55% audience score. It's the kind of thing you watch on Netflix when you've already scrolled past it three times and finally give up.
The subject matter (gambling addiction, stealing from criminals, lying to everyone) makes it inappropriate for kids, and the execution makes it borderline unwatchable for most adults. If you're specifically interested in addiction narratives or low-key character studies, maybe. Otherwise, there are better ways to spend 88 minutes.
