Look, I'm going to level with you: this movie is pretty rough. It's not terrible filmmaking—Shyamalan knows how to build tension and the twist is decent—but it's the kind of horror that leaves you feeling gross rather than thrilled.
The premise of evil fake grandparents is inherently disturbing, and the execution leans hard into uncomfortable imagery (elderly nudity, incontinence, violence toward kids) that crosses the line from scary-fun into genuinely upsetting territory. The 52% audience score tells you what you need to know: a lot of people watched this and wished they hadn't.
If you have a 16-year-old who's a serious horror buff and has already seen their share of intense content, fine. But this is absolutely not a 'let's see if my 13-year-old can handle it' situation. There are so many better entry points into thriller/horror that don't involve quite this much psychological damage.
The bottom line? Unless your teen is specifically asking to watch this because their horror-loving friends have seen it, there's really no compelling reason to add this to your family's watchlist. It's not enriching, it's not fun, and it's definitely not wholesome. It's just... unpleasant.
