If your kid is into Five Nights at Freddy's, they've likely already asked for this. It's a solid, moody adaptation that respects the source material without being unnecessarily gross.

The core of the story is actually about a group of childhood friends reuniting to process shared trauma, which is surprisingly grounded. However, the 'wholesome' vibe is constantly interrupted by the fact that their childhood mascots are now possessed murder-bots.
Scott Cawthon basically invented a new subgenre of horror here. The lore is dense, the character designs are iconic, and the way it turns a mundane setting like a pizza parlor into a labyrinth of mystery is top-tier creativity.
