Look, this is a competent DC animated movie with decent ratings (83% on Rotten Tomatoes), but let's address the elephant in the room: the romantic relationship between adult Dick Grayson and teenage Terra is deeply uncomfortable, even if the movie tries to handle it carefully. It's based on the original comics where this was also problematic, but that doesn't make it better in 2017.
Beyond that issue, it's a solid superhero film with good action, meaningful themes about trust and betrayal, and strong character work. The 'Judas Contract' is a beloved Teen Titans storyline, and fans of the team will appreciate seeing it adapted. The animation is quality DC direct-to-video fare.
But here's the thing: if you're going to let your 13-year-old watch this, you probably need to have a conversation about those relationship dynamics, because the movie doesn't adequately address how inappropriate they are. It's not a dealbreaker for the whole film, but it's a significant enough flaw that it keeps this from being a strong recommendation.
