Look, Teen Beach 2 is the definition of harmless Disney Channel content. It's safe, it's colorful, it's got songs, and it will not rot anyone's brain or cause nightmares. But let's be real: even critics who gave it a pass (80% on RT) couldn't get audiences to care (57% audience score, 5.9 on IMDb).
This is a sequel that exists because the first one was popular, not because anyone had a great story to tell. The meta-concept of movie characters entering reality has potential, but it's executed with all the depth of a kiddie pool. Your tween will either already be a fan and want to watch it, or they'll bounce off it in 15 minutes.
The WISE score reflects reality: it's wholesome and safe, but it's not particularly imaginative or enriching, and the entertainment value is narrow. If your kid is in that sweet spot of loving Disney Channel musicals and beach vibes, sure, it's a fine rainy afternoon. But this isn't going to become a family favorite or teach anyone much beyond 'be yourself' delivered with jazz hands.
