Look, I'm just going to level with you: a 2.1 out of 5 on Letterboxd is brutal. That's 'people actively regret watching this' territory. The premise — German girl discovers she's part of a super-rich Turkish family — has potential for exploring identity, culture, and family expectations, which could be valuable for teens.
But when both critics and audiences are this unanimously unimpressed, it's a red flag that the execution is probably cringeworthy, the writing weak, and the cultural representation potentially shallow or stereotypical. There are so many better rom-coms and coming-of-age stories about identity that your teen could watch instead.
Unless your kid is specifically interested in Turkish culture or desperately needs something new on Netflix, this is probably a skip. The WISE score reflects both the mediocre potential of the premise AND the reality that nobody seems to actually like this movie.
