The Hostile Hospital is peak Snicket. It’s book eight, so the formula is well-established, but the stakes feel higher because the Baudelaires are now fugitives.
It’s not 'brain rot'—far from it. It’s a sharp, funny, and deeply intelligent book that treats its young readers like they’re the smartest people in the room, mostly because all the adults in the book are idiots. If your kid hasn't started this series yet, they're missing out on a foundational piece of modern 'un-wholesome' literature that is actually very good for their brains.
