This is the definition of a 'straight-to-video' cash-in. While it’s perfectly harmless and features the characters we all know, it lacks the soul, craft, and catchy music that made the 1964 Rankin/Bass original a masterpiece.
If you have a toddler who is obsessed with Rudolph and you've already watched the original ten times this week, this will fill an hour. Otherwise, skip it. The 2001-era CGI has aged like milk, and the story feels like a discarded B-plot from a better movie.
