Look, this isn't going to win any awards, and the critics were pretty lukewarm for good reason. It's a paint-by-numbers animated adventure that borrows heavily from better movies (Kung Fu Panda did this whole thing way better).
That said, it's not offensively bad—just aggressively okay. If your kid is in that 7-9 sweet spot and loves animals doing martial arts, they'll probably sit through it without complaint. The messages about teamwork and believing in yourself are fine, the action is cartoony and safe, and there's nothing here that'll give you pause.
But let's be real: with a 5.8 on IMDb and a 45 Metacritic, this is filler content. It's the movie you put on when you've already watched Encanto twelve times and you need something—anything—new. Your kid will forget about it by next week, which is probably for the best.
