Paper Skies is solid educational YouTube—well-researched, respectfully presented, and genuinely enriching for the right kid. If your 12-year-old is building model planes or reading about WWII dogfights, this channel is a great find.
That said, it's not light viewing. Many episodes cover crashes and tragedies, and while the tone is educational rather than exploitative, the archival footage can be graphic. Preview episodes first, especially for sensitive kids.
The bigger question is whether you want your kid on YouTube at all. Even great channels like this one exist within an ecosystem designed to keep eyes glued to screens. Watch together, or download specific videos for offline viewing to avoid the algorithm rabbit hole.
