Agent Carter is that show you put on when you've exhausted the good Marvel content and need to fill in the MCU gaps. It's not bad—Hayley Atwell is excellent and Peggy Carter deserves her own story—but there's a reason it only lasted two seasons.
The 1940s setting is genuinely refreshing in the superhero landscape, and watching Peggy navigate workplace sexism while secretly saving the world offers solid role-modeling for tweens and teens. The period costumes and retro-tech are fun, and it's way less chaotic than modern Marvel.
But real talk: this show moves slowly. Even in 2015 it felt a bit dated, and now it's a full decade old with pacing that reflects network TV constraints. The action is fine, the mysteries are serviceable, but it never quite catches fire. If your kid is a Marvel completist or loves period pieces, go for it. Otherwise, there are stronger options on Disney+ that won't have them checking their phone every ten minutes.
