This book is a polished version of internet horror culture. It’s effective at what it does—which is to keep you awake and slightly paranoid—but it has zero business being anywhere near a child.
If you're an adult who loves psychological thrillers and doesn't mind a heavy dose of 'too-close-to-home' reality mixed with your horror, it's a gripping read. Just don't expect a happy ending or a lesson in mental health; this is a ghost story wearing a white coat.
