DK Eyewitness books are the gold standard for getting a kid to look at something that isn't a screen for twenty minutes. It’s high-quality, the photography is crisp, and it makes internal components look fascinating.
That said, this edition is from 2019. In tech years, that’s the Stone Age. It won’t explain LLMs, modern GPUs, or why everyone is obsessed with neural networks. It’s a great foundational history book, but don't expect it to be a guide to the world your kid is currently living in. It’s a solid 'analog' break, but it's definitely a legacy title at this point.
