Death and Other Details wants to be your next binge-worthy mystery, but it's caught between being a clever whodunit and a prestige drama with lots of sex. The Mediterranean cruise setting is gorgeous, and there's fun to be had playing detective, but the mixed reviews (55% critics, 66% audience) tell the story: it's fine, not great.
The bigger issue for parents: this is emphatically not family content. We're talking full-frontal nudity, graphic sex scenes, and enough f-bombs to make a sailor blush. If you're looking for a cozy mystery night with teens, this isn't it. If you're an adult who wants something to watch after the kids are asleep and you don't mind explicit content with your clue-hunting, it might scratch that itch.
Bottom line: competent adult mystery that doesn't quite live up to its premise, but could entertain if you're in the mood for something soapy with a body count.
