Let's be clear: this show is bad. Not 'so bad it's good' bad—just bad bad. With a Metacritic score of 15/100, it's one of the lowest-rated sitcoms in recent memory, and it was cancelled after one season for excellent reasons.
The show relies on offensive stereotypes, lazy writing, and shock-value humor that falls completely flat. Critics universally panned it, and even audiences who might enjoy lowbrow comedy found it more cringe than funny.
There's literally no reason to watch this in 2025. It wasn't good in 2013, it hasn't aged into cult classic status, and there are hundreds of actually funny family comedies you could watch instead. If you're looking for shows about multi-generational family dynamics, try literally anything else—Modern Family, Fresh Off the Boat, The Goldbergs, even old reruns of Everybody Loves Raymond would be better choices.
This is a hard pass from Screenwise.
