Let's be honest: this movie is bad. Not 'so bad it's good,' just bad. The premise sounds fun in theory—killer robot teachers!—but the execution is a slog of cheap effects, wooden acting, and gratuitous violence that feels more tedious than thrilling.
The Metacritic score of 33 tells you everything. Even the 63% Rotten Tomatoes critic score is misleading—that's mostly cult-film nostalgia talking. Modern audiences, especially kids, will find this unwatchable. It's too slow, too dated, and too dumb.
If you're a parent wondering if your teen can watch this: technically yes at 17+, but why would they want to? There are dozens of better dystopian school movies (Battle Royale, The Hunger Games, even Freaky) that are more entertaining and less of a chore. This is strictly for bad-movie-night completists.
