Casper's Scare School is the definition of 'mid.' It’s a perfectly harmless, occasionally charming movie that suffers from being a product of its time. The central message—that you don't have to be a bully to be powerful—is great, but the delivery is wrapped in 2006 CGI that has not aged gracefully.
If your kid is specifically in a Casper phase, it's a safe bet. But if you're just looking for a great monster movie, there are much more polished options from the last decade that will hold their attention (and yours) significantly better.
