This is what Blokus should have been all along. The 3D element transforms it from 'fine abstract game' to 'genuinely compelling spatial puzzle' that works at any player count.
The brain workout is real—kids are doing serious geometry and spatial reasoning without realizing it, planning moves in three dimensions while adhering to corner-touching rules. Unlike a lot of 'educational' games, adults will actually want to play this one.
The collaborative-looking tower you build together is a nice touch—even though you're competing, it feels less cutthroat than games where you're directly attacking each other. Perfect for families who want strategic depth without tears at the table.
Only real downside: it can be harder to find than regular Blokus, and pieces toppling mid-game might frustrate some kids. But if your family likes spatial puzzles, this is a solid addition to the shelf.
