Atlantis is a perfectly serviceable fantasy adventure that throws Greek mythology into a blender and hits 'pulse.' It's not going to win awards for historical accuracy—or really any awards—but if your 11-year-old wants monsters, heroes, and adventure, it delivers.
The fantasy violence is real enough to be exciting but stylized enough to avoid nightmares (for most kids 10+). The bigger issue is that the show is... fine. Not great, not terrible, just fine. Mixed reviews reflect this: it's watchable but forgettable, the kind of thing that fills a rainy afternoon but won't become anyone's favorite.
If your kid is genuinely interested in Greek mythology, use this as a gateway drug—watch an episode or two, then pivot to Percy Jackson books or actual myth collections. If they just want adventure TV, this works, but temper expectations. It's BBC-budget fantasy from 2013, not Game of Thrones.
