Assetto Corsa is the racing game equivalent of eating plain oatmeal—nutritious, wholesome, and completely safe, but only appealing if you're really into oatmeal.
It's a legitimate racing simulator that teaches real physics and vehicle dynamics. No violence, no toxicity, no monetization nonsense. ESRB rated E with only mild language. From a safety and wholesomeness perspective, it's nearly perfect.
But let's be honest: this is a 2014 hardcore sim with dated graphics and zero mainstream appeal. If your kid isn't already obsessed with cars, racing lines, and suspension tuning, they'll be bored within 10 minutes. If they ARE a gearhead, this is gold.
The one parenting note: a Reddit parent flagged that their 12-year-old got so good at the sim they started thinking they could actually drive. Worth a conversation about simulation vs. reality, especially with teens.
