Let's be real: this is a bad movie. A 20% on Rotten Tomatoes and 1.8 out of 5 on Letterboxd means even generous viewers are struggling. This is a 2024 live-action/CGI sequel to a 2017 movie nobody asked for, featuring a 1940s cartoon character in a generic summer camp plot.
Is it safe? Sure. Will it traumatize anyone? No. But will your kids actually enjoy it, or will they just tolerate it while you fold laundry? Probably the latter. Even by kids' movie standards, this appears to be low-effort IP exploitation with minimal creativity, humor, or heart.
If your young kids are bored and you need 90 minutes of something inoffensive on Netflix, fine. But there are dozens of better options that are actually entertaining AND developmentally positive. This one's a skip unless you're truly desperate.
