Here's the deal: Mythica: The Necromancer is the kind of movie you stumble onto at 10pm on a free streaming service when you've already scrolled past everything good. It's not offensively bad, but with a 5.4 on IMDb and 49% on Rotten Tomatoes, it's aggressively mediocre.
The concept—young wizard leads friends on a quest against an evil necromancer—is fine. Female protagonist is a plus. But the execution appears to be bargain-basement fantasy with effects that probably look like a decent cosplay convention. There are so many better fantasy options (The Princess Bride, Stardust, Willow, even the Narnia films) that recommending this feels like suggesting store-brand cereal when Cinnamon Toast Crunch exists.
If your teen is absolutely obsessed with low-budget fantasy and has already watched everything else, sure, it's free. But this is a 'maybe if you're sick on the couch and have exhausted all other options' recommendation, not a 'gather the family for movie night' situation.
