This is a Wes Anderson passion project adapting Roald Dahl, which means it's beautifully shot, meticulously composed, and... kind of niche. Critics loved it (100%!), but regular viewers gave it a collective shrug (61%).
At 17 minutes, it's barely longer than a sitcom episode, and the subject—a rat catcher describing his methods—is exactly as dark and dry as it sounds. If your kid is into Anderson's aesthetic or already loves Dahl's macabre sensibility, this could be a fun curiosity. But for most families, it's a 'that was interesting, I guess?' experience.
The bigger issue: it's just not engaging enough to recommend over the thousands of other things competing for screen time. It's fine, it's artsy, it's well-made—but it's also forgettable. Unless you're doing a Dahl deep-dive or your tween is going through a Wes Anderson phase, you can skip this without FOMO.
