The Godfather: Corleone's Empire is a well-executed strategy game with a very adult theme. Eric Lang's design is clean and engaging—easy to learn, quick to play, with enough strategic depth to keep experienced gamers interested. The theme is dark (you're literally mob bosses murdering each other), but it's all abstracted through worker placement and area control mechanics.
The 14+ rating is appropriate. This isn't for kids, period. But for teens who understand The Godfather context and adults who enjoy competitive board games, it's a solid choice. The mechanics are sound, the theme integration is strong, and it plays in a reasonable timeframe.
Not a must-have masterpiece, but a good thematic strategy game for the right audience. Just make sure everyone at the table is old enough to handle playing crime lords without confusion about the morality of it all.
