The Alchemist is basically the ultimate 'vibes' book. It’s short, it’s mystical, and it’s surprisingly un-annoying for something so inspirational.
It’s a great 'reset' book for a teen who feels burnt out by school or sports. It doesn't have the grit of modern dystopian YA, which is actually its superpower—it’s just a straightforward, hopeful story about a guy and some sheep. It might be a little 'woo-woo' for some, but as far as required reading goes, you could do a lot worse than a book that tells your kid they have a destiny worth chasing.
