Here's the truth: this is an excellent documentary that will bore the absolute pants off most kids. The filmmaking is top-notch, the historical value is real, and if you're into music history or just appreciate quality biography, it's genuinely worth your time.
But we're not going to pretend your 10-year-old is going to sit through two hours about Frank Sinatra's life and career. Common Sense Media's age-10 rating is technically accurate for content appropriateness, but practically speaking, this is adult viewing.
The WISE score reflects this reality: individually strong components (especially Enriching at 82), but a significant watchability penalty because modern kids—even teenagers—are going to struggle with the pacing, the cultural distance, and the documentary format. It's the kind of thing you put on during a family gathering when the grandparents are over, or maybe for a high schooler doing a music history project.
If you're a Sinatra fan or want genuinely quality documentary content, go for it. Just don't expect the kids to thank you.
