Rage of Bahamut is what happens when a mobile card game gets an anime adaptation: you get decent fantasy worldbuilding, dragons, magic, and action sequences, but not much depth or lasting impact.
The 7.3 IMDb rating tells you it's competently made and entertaining enough for anime fans, but this isn't breaking new ground. It's got the standard anime package—fantasy violence, some fan service, morally ambiguous characters, and a plot that moves fast enough to keep you watching but won't stick with you afterward.
For 14-16 year olds into anime and fantasy, it's a fine watch. But in 2025, there are frankly better fantasy anime options with more substance. This one's serviceable but not essential, and being over a decade old, it shows its age in both animation style and storytelling tropes.
