The E rating is accurate for content (it's just Pokémon cards), but the monetization model is designed to extract money from players who don't understand probability or can't resist the dopamine hit of rare pulls.
If you lock down in-app purchases and treat this purely as a free daily pack-opening simulator, it's actually pretty delightful. The simplified rules make it way more approachable than the physical TCG for younger kids, and the social features are genuinely nice. But the moment you allow spending, you're opening Pandora's loot box.
The physical Pokémon TCG teaches better strategic thinking and doesn't have gambling mechanics. If your kid wants to collect and battle, buy them a starter deck instead.
